Here's some of my work

Check it out.

I spend my days pushing pixels and vectors in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign with forays into After Effects and now Edge Animate, XD and Unity game development. At night, I break out the pens, ink, and paints to connect to the wild, weird world in my head.

Journey down the AE wormhole...

April 28, 2016

Here's a little video I did for work. I used the raindrop character I developed for the Storm Drain Goalie iPad game, edited sound, did voice over and learned a lot about animating and using Adobe After Effects CC in the process. John Shepard shot most of the video used in the backgrounds, including the drone footage. With the help of Red Giant Toonit and a few other After Effects plug-ins from Red Giant Universe, I was able to turn those videos into cartoon environments suitable for a hyperactive raindrop.

One of the more interesting challenges was to change the pool from a completely neglected mosquito haven to a pool you'd want to luxuriate in. This involved camera tracking, 3D layers and a little photoshop action on top of the ToonIt effect.
